IIUI and Islamic Relief Pakistan Forge Partnership to Support Vulnerable Communities


Islamabad, The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has partnered with Islamic Relief Pakistan, formalizing their collaboration through a Letter of Interest (LOI) to establish a referral mechanism aimed at aiding vulnerable community members. The signing ceremony, which took place at IIUI, saw the participation of both organizations’ key officials, marking a significant step towards joint humanitarian efforts.



According to International Islamic University Islamabad, Ms. Nuzhat Zareen, Director of UAFA at IIUI, signed the LOI with Mr. Said Usman, Area Program Manager of Islamic Relief Pakistan. The event was attended by key personnel including Miss Mehnaz Kousar, Syed Naveed Ehtisham, Noor Hussain, and other officials from both organizations, underscoring the commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation for community support.



Mr. Said Usman, during the ceremony, highlighted Islamic Relief Pakistan’s ongoing project WASYLA (Women Aligned for Sustainable Youth-Centered Livelihood Action) in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Quetta. He emphasized the organization’s dedication to forming synergies with government and semi-government institutions to promote and support community groups in their humanitarian endeavors. Islamic Relief Pakistan’s broader activities encompass poverty reduction, technical skills enhancement, support for individuals with disabilities, water and sanitation, food security, livelihoods, climate change adaptation, health services, orphan support, women’s empowerment, emergency response, and disaster risk reduction.



Ms. Nuzhat Zareen expressed optimism about the LOI, seeing it as a foundation for future collaborative ventures that aim to promote education and societal welfare. She highlighted IIUI’s commitment to producing skilled graduates who are capable of contributing significantly to societal and national progress.



This partnership between IIUI and Islamic Relief Pakistan represents a pivotal move in uniting educational resources and humanitarian efforts to empower and uplift the most vulnerable segments of society, thereby fostering sustainable development and resilience against socio-economic challenges.
