Lahore, May 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 134th Annual Athletics Championship 2021-22 and Intermural Championship 2022 were organized by the Department of Health and Physical Education. The event lasted from March 31 to April 1, 2022. The prize distribution ceremony was held on April 12, 2022. The event started with the recitation of the Holy Bible and the Holy Quran by College students. Ms. Maria Yousaf, Professor of Computer Sciences hosted the event and announced the names of all the winners and runner’s up.
Mr. Babar Kamil, Head of the Department of Health and Physical Education, presented the annual report. He appreciated the hard work and dedication shown by the Sports Department. He said that sports keep students busy, active, and moving and that opportunities are given to students to display their athleticism and excel in different sports. He added that the College sports teams have actively participated in Lahore Board Championships.
Participation in Lahore Board tournaments for basketball, cricket, handball, squash, table tennis, tennis, tug of war, and volleyball.

Volleyball: 3rd place
Cricket: Our team reached the semi-finals in the Central Punjab Cricket Championship and two of our players were selected for the Lahore Board’s cricket team and took part in all Pakistan inter-board cricket championships (winner) 2022.
Mr. Babar Kamil congratulated all the winners, hoping that they will not only maintain their positions but also come out with better performance in the future.
Future Plans:
The Sports Department has plans to build and improve the infrastructure, including preparing two cemented cricket pitches. The students will be able to enjoy sports in the evening as well. The Northern Sports field will be completely lighted.
Dr. Ivan Suneel Samuel (Vice-Rector College) was the Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winners. The Vice Rector in his post-distribution speech said that earlier, sports were a neglected area and now it would be his top priority. He promised to continue to support College Sports. The Vice Rector distributed medals and trophies. The guests of honour, Dr. Lubna Amir (Coordinator and HOD Chemistry Department), Mr. Brain Furches (Senior Athletic Director), Mr. Arooj Justin (Chief Proctor), Dr. Aneel Samuel (HOD Urdu), Mr. Shahzad Nazir (HOD Department of Health and Physical Education), Ms. Eram Jeorge (HOD English), Mr. Rehan Sohail, Mr. Saleem Masih (HOD History and Pakistan Studies), Mr. Kamran James (HOD Political Science) Mr. Akram Noul (HOD Computer), Mr. Khurram Shahzad (HOD Commerce), Tahir Masood (Urdu), Ms. Julia Austin (HOD English) also graced the occasion with their presence and distributed prizes along with Dr. Suneel.
The Chief Guest presented the trophies to the Best and 2nd best athletes. At the end, Dr. Aneel Samuel and Mr. Babar Kamil presented a souvenir to the chief guest.
