Fatima Jinnah Medical University in Lahore Hosts Fifth Clinicopathological Conference Session

Lahore, Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) in Lahore commenced its fifth Clinicopathological Conference (CPC) session for the academic year 2023–24, aiming to enhance the clinical expertise of its undergraduate and postgraduate students. The conference was meticulously organized by Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal.

According to Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore, featured presentations from the Department of General Surgery-III and the Department of Cardiology. The first case on “Intraperitoneal Onlay Mesh Repair—Experience at SGRH” was presented by Ms. Tayyaba Naz and Dr. Ushna, offering comprehensive insights on diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis, followed by expert remarks from Prof. Dr. Waseem Hayat Khan. The second case, focusing on “Pulmonary Embolism,” was delivered by the Department of Cardiology, with Dr. Maheen Ahmad and Dr. Yamshe discussing various aspects of the condition, concluded by Prof. Dr. Bilal Mohyuddin.

Prof. Bilquis Shabbir emphasized the importance of CPCs in medical education, highlighting their role in improving diagnostic and treatment skills in patient care. She also underscored the integration of spirituality in medical practice. Her efforts in organizing these conferences were highly appreciated for their significant contribution to the clinical knowledge and skill development of students and professionals at FJMU.
