Dr. Asma Arif of University of Wah Selected as Writer for ‘Chinese Social Sciences Today’

Wah, The University of Wah proudly announced that Dr. Asma Arif, Assistant Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Economics, has been selected as a writer for the prominent publication “Chinese Social Sciences Today.” This achievement highlights the international recognition of the University’s academic expertise and its contribution to global socio-economic discussions.

According to University of Wah, “Chinese Social Sciences Today” is a newspaper affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and is widely read by universities, research institutes, and think tanks. Dr. Arif’s selection came on the recommendation of Prof. Cao Zhihong, Deputy Director of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). She has been invited to represent the University of Wah, referred to as “Wa he daxue” in Chinese.

In her role, Dr. Arif will focus on expressing views on the socio-economic implications of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the “Belt and Road” green construction policies. Her insights are expected to shed light on these critical issues from a broad perspective, fostering a deeper understanding between China and Pakistan. The University of Wah anticipates that her article, which is to be submitted by January 19, 2024, will be published in both Chinese and English newspapers following the Chinese Spring Festival.
