CM Chaudhry Parvez Elahi chaired the 3rd cabinet meeting in which the firing incident on the Chairman PTI Imran Khan and other leaders was strongly condemned

Lahore, November 04, 2022 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi presided over the 3rd Provincial Cabinet meeting at CMO, the Punjab Cabinet strongly condemned the firing incident on the Chairman PTI Imran Khan and others leaders. The Punjab Cabinet expressed its complete solidarity with Imran Khan and other leaders. CM Pervez Elahi, Provincial Ministers and Special Assistants prayed for the early recovery of Imran Khan and other leaders. During the Punjab Cabinet meeting it was prayed for the exalted place of the martyred party worker Moazam Gondal in the firing incident.

CM announced financial assistance of Rs.50 lacs for the family members of the martyred party worker Moazam Gondal while Rs.25 lacs was announced for party worker Ibtisam for courageously apprehending the person committing an attack. CM stated that the statement of the accused is mere eyewash and we will reach to the bottom of the matter. CM thanked Allah Almighty that Imran Khan and other companions remained safe in the firing incident and vowed to bring the real motives behind the incident to the surface.

The whole staff members of the police station have been suspended for leaking video of the accused and their mobile phones were taken into possession adding that those being contacted will soon be known. The Cabinet expressed its resolve to bring the elements doing firing before the court of law. Additional IG CTD presented the initial inquiry report to the cabinet. The cabinet meeting accorded approval to the most lengthy agenda and more than 90-point agenda was approved. Approval was also granted to construct a flyover at Shadara a place near Lahore during the meeting while approval was also granted to fix the fare of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train on the basis of distance.

It was also decided during the meeting to extend the scope of Lahore Transport Company across Punjab and approval was also given to extend the route of buses plying in Lahore up to Muridke. Approval was also accorded to adopt austerity measures to reduce the government expenses during the current fiscal year under which the foreign treatment and air travel on the government officers will be banned. Ban will also be applicable to hold workshops and seminars in the luxury hotels on the government expenses.

Approval was also accorded for new employments for the district police offices in the new districts. It was also decided to take departmental written examination for making induction of constables / traffic assistants in the Punjab Police. It was also approved to extend the contract of contract employees in the Home Department and making induction on 2226 posts in the technical cadre of Special Branch and Management Information System. Approval was also granted to amend the service rules 2020 (appointment by promotion) of Deputy Superintendent and Superintendent under which the condition of field posting for the promotion of DSPs of technical cadre of police has been abolished.

Approval was also granted to the transfer policy of regular medical officers of Primary and Secondary Health and Women Medical Officers of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education along with Punjab Financial Management Act 2022 and Punjab Pension Reforms 2022. Approval was also granted to establish Counter Terrorism Training School in the CTD Headquarters near Jallo Park. It was also decided to allow the export of additional sugar without any subsidy to the Punjab Sugar Mills Association. The Punjab Cabinet also granted approval for granting financial assistance package to be given to the flood affectees during the recent flood.

The Punjab Cabinet also endorsed the decision to make Murree, Kot Addu, Talagang and Wazirabad a district along with making Alipur a tehsil. It was also approved to adopt an action plan during the snowfall season in Murree. It was decided to make prompt inductions on the vacant posts in Rescue-1122 and approval was granted to allocate Rs.1 billion for the implementation on the Murree Action Plan. It was also approved under the authority to release the prisoners under Prisoners Probational Release Act 1926 Section-II.

The board comprising of the level of Additional Secretary will present its recommendations to the CM for the release of prisoners showing good conduct. Approval was also granted for the induction on the new block of Aziz Bhatti Teaching Hospital Gujrat of 148-beds and reconstituting Board of Governors for the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Center. Approval was also granted for issuing funds for appointment of caretaker Vice Chancellor of the University of Child Health Science, for the prevention of dengue especially larvaciding, fogging and for the reporting system of IRS.

Approval was also granted to extend the contract of the staff members of the Strategic Planning Unit of Primary and Secretary Health, IRMNCH and Phase-II nutrition Programme. It was also decided to disburse Rs.200 million grant in aid for the payable bills of the pension of Punjab Small Industries. It was also approved to amend the manuscript of Muttahida Ulema Board Punjab Act 2022 and the Accounts Rules 1982 of the Punjab Evacuee Trust Board. It was also approved to constitute an equal search committee for the appointment of Vice Chancellors in the government universities and for the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company.

It was also approved to extend the contract of the staff members of Sustainable Land Management Programme. It was also decided to grant approval for making induction on the approved vacant posts of Infrastructure Development Authority. It was also approved to increase the funds to improve the quality of food for the residents in the social welfare institutions. The Punjab Cabinet also granted approval to disburse financial assistance amount for the treatment of the deserving patients suffering from various diseases. Provincial Ministers, Advisors, Special Assistants, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police and Senior officials attended the meeting.
