Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari says that the devolution of power to grossroots in Pakistan is still incomplete; if the people give his Party a chance in the upcoming general elections, all those ministries will be handed over to the provinces

Karachi, September 11, 2023 (PPI-OT): Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the journey of devolution of power to grossroots in the country is still incomplete, but if the people give his party a chance in the upcoming general elections, those ministries will be handed over to the provinces, which the Center cannot keep after the 18th constitutional amendment. He also confidently predicted that now it is written on the wall that the next government will be of the PPP.

According to the press release issued by Media Cell Bilawal House, the PPP Chairman, while addressing the distribution ceremony of residential plots to hundreds of families in two slums, Bashirabad and Raju Marwari Goth, including 7,000 families displaced as a result of the court-ordered operation here on Monday, said that former President Asif Ali Zardari during his tenure gave the nation the gift of 18th Amendment. “Hospitals like NICVD and Gambat Medical Institute that we have built in Sindh are because of the same 18th Amendment,” he said, adding that the judiciary tried (to stop) but we took the Ministry of Health. “But even today there are ministries in the Center, which should not be left there,” he contended.

Addressing the people of Pakistan, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he promises to them that if the government of PPP is formed after the next election, the process of provincial autonomy would be completed. He said that if the above-mentioned ministries are handed over to the provinces, then Rs100 billion could be saved annually, if these ministries come to Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, and that amount will be spent on the betterment of the people directly. He said that with that huge amount of Rs 100 billion, hospitals like NICVD can be built in all provinces, projects like Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) can be started, and that money can be spent on senior citizens and the youth. “We don’t make false promises like Khan Sahib (Imran Khan). We are PPP, (so) what we promise we deliver,” he added.

Chairman PPP said that if the people gave him a chance, he would not take sacrifices from the people like other rulers. “I will take sacrifice from the “Babus” (bureaucracy) sitting in Islamabad, who always say that people have to sacrifice as the country is going through a critical period,” he said, adding that he would fulfill his promises, and he would not overburden the common men, rather the rich and elite of the country.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan is a strange country. “In other countries, justice is done by judges, but the history of our Judiciary is that it hanged even the leader of the people instead of giving justice,” he added. He said that (in the next few days) another Chief Justice of the country is retiring, but till now Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the first elected Prime Minister, and the people of the country have not got any justice. The former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed had made their stubbornness that as many houses as possible of the poor citizens should be demolished, he said and continued, “I was unable to stop such injustice, but I gave instructions to the Chief Minister of Sindh that the victims of the operation on the order of the court will be made houses. Today, it is a matter of happiness that the people who were displaced are being given ownership rights to their land.”

Referring to the facilities provided by his party’s provincial government in the public health sector in Sukkur, Chairman PPP said that NICVD and SIUT hospitals are functioning in the third lagest city of the Sindh province, while a cancer treatment hospital is under construction. He pointed out that the only hospital for kidney treatment in Punjab is established in Lahore, which is far behind the medical hospital established in Tehsil Gumbat of Sindh in terms of state-of-the-art facilities.

He urged the people across the country to support his party to take Pakistan out of problems and crises. “Make the PPP successful in the upcoming general elections, and not only from Sindh, but also from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan,” he added. He further said that the young Pakistan needs young leadership now and for it the PPP should be made successful to bring people-friendly, poor-friendly, labor-friendly and farmer-friendly government in the country.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari demanded the caretaker government to immediately arrest the accused involved in the murder of journalist Jan Muhammad Mahar, who was assassinated few weeks back in Sukkur. He assured the journalist community that PPP stands by their side in the struggle for justice with Shaheed Jan Muhammad Mahar. Meanwhile, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari distributed ownership documents of residential plots among the displaced families.

Moreover, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari were warmly welcomed by party workers and people in every city, town, enroute from Nawabshah to Sukkur.
