Dubai, August 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):As part of their ongoing partnership with IMG Arena, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced today that the Europe qualifiers for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Spain, scheduled from 26 August to 30 August, will be live streamed on ICC.tv and FanCode.

The announcement follows ICC’s commitment to ensure more international cricket than ever before is accessible to fans of all nations around the world. As an extension of this partnership, Dream11 has also been awarded the naming rights for all ICC pathway events until April 2023, supporting ICC in the continued development of international cricket.

Coverage of the event will be produced by CricClubs, who will use their live streaming expertise to make each match available to view live on FanCode in the Indian sub-continent and on ICC.tv in the rest of the world. Highlights and the very best in-play moments will be shared on ICC’s digital assets, providing additional event exposure, and giving fans an opportunity to rewatch the action on-demand.

Global broadcast exposure for cricket played by our Associate Members has long been identified as a major contributing factor that would greatly benefit efforts to raise the profile of our sport in markets that are not traditionally associated with cricket. The live streaming arrangement between IMG Arena and ICC will enable fans to watch all qualifying matches to three ICC World Cups which include: the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier will take place in La Manga, Spain and will begin at 10:30 AM local time on Thursday, 26 August 2021.

Dubai, August 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):Organisers of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 (CWC22) are thrilled to announce that 1000 Kiwi have now signed up as ‘CWC22 Champions’ in support of the tournament.

Launched in February, the community engagement campaign has struck a chord with Kiwi from all over Aotearoa – each one helping to spread the word as the pinnacle event in women’s ODI cricket approaches (4 March – 3 April 2022).

CWC22 Chief Executive Andrea Nelson says: “We’re ecstatic with the uptake of this fantastic campaign, which brings the World Cup action right to the heart of our communities.

“From our leaders within the Beehive to side-line supporters at local clubs, we’re pleased to see so many New Zealanders embracing the opportunity to back what is the first World Cup to come to Aotearoa since the global pandemic struck,” she says.

With the initial goal of recruiting an army of 1000 tournament champions achieved organisers have now set their sights on doubling the target as the tournament rides a growing groundswell of support.

From sports legends to comedy royalty, Aotearoa’s biggest names have already lined up to show their support for the best cricketers in the world – and they want you to be on their team.

Those who sign up will join the team of familiar faces such as Sir Richard Hadlee, Dame Valerie Adams, Kane Williamson, Toni Street, Madeleine Sami and Laura McGoldrick.

The list of prominent Champions includes many former WHITE FERNS, several whom were a part of the 2000 World Cup winning squad.

One of many proud Champions, Laura McGoldrick, says: “I am not surprised 1000 people signed up so quickly – I have no doubt there will be more.

“I cannot wait for the CWC22! We saw first-hand in 2015 how special World Cups in your own back yard are. We have a brilliant WHITE FERNS side taking on the best teams in the world with amazing women who will inspire the next generation of young cricketers – and I for one cannot wait to cheer them on.”

The first 1000 people who have signed up as CWC22 Champions will receive an exclusive tournament merchandise pack as well as priority access to events in the lead-up to the World Cup.

Dubai, August 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):To support New Zealanders through COVID restrictions, the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 (CWC22) has revealed 10 exciting ‘at home’ activities from the CRIC-KIDS Education Resource – a sneak peak of what can be expected from the full release next month.

Aimed at Kiwi kids aged 7-13, the CRIC-KIDS education resource brings to life the excitement of the CWC22 in a learning context, highlighting the importance of Hauora and wellbeing. Today’s release contains 10 of the 45 stand-alone tasks which will be available from 1 September.

Available in Te reo Maori and English, tamariki can get creative with cricket and tuck into some fun activities that will get their mind active while we keep Aotearoa safe at home (access at-home activities here).

Fresh off the back of her MIQ stint, Olympic gold medallist and CWC22 Champion Emma Twigg thinks these activities will be a welcome addition to lockdown for many tamariki throughout the country.

“There will be so many Kiwi kids throughout the country that will be missing their fix of sport while they’re at home in lockdown, as I am too.

“I know the kids in our whanau and friendship group will love adding these CRIC-KIDS activities to their daily routine. A perfect way to keep the mind and body active, as well as learning about cricket,” Twigg said.

All 10 activities require minimal space, little to no equipment and are self-driven.

Kura Kaupapa Maori, schools and community organisations can register here to receive the full CRIC-KIDS education resource.

Health and wellbeing motivator Dave Letele, who features in a video promoting CRIC-KIDS, said the early release of the resource was great to see.

“Staying motivated and active, both mentally and physically, can be a real challenge in lockdown,” Letele said.

“Having seen the CRIC-KIDS programme in action recently when it was launched up in Waitangi, I know it will be a great resource for everyone looking for fresh ideas to engage the whanau in lockdown.”

CRIC-KIDS was created by kaiako (teachers) and aligns to the National Curriculum (Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA) and The New Zealand Curriculum (NZC). Educators can choose to do one task, or all 45, making the resource incredibly user friendly.

Schools and community organisations can apply to receive CWC22 cricket sets to assist with physical ‘Have a go!’ tasks. They’ll also have the opportunity to secure tickets to attend matches in their host city.

CRIC-KIDS will enable young learners (years 3 – 8) around Aotearoa to get behind the country’s hosting of the tournament in the classroom, backyard and the nation’s packed out stadia.

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 CEO, Andrea Nelson says: “We’re delighted to be releasing a special edition of CRIC-KIDS to help all those parents like me running out of fun activities for their children to do while at home – there’s only so much banana bread the household can make.”

“I’m very excited to see kids get a sneak peak of the resource over the coming days before Kura Kaupapa Maori, schools and community groups take up the resource and adapt it to their own classrooms in a way that works for them.”

The CRIC-KIDS Education Programme is part of the ‘In Our Backyard’ project, where the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, NZ Rugby, NZ Football, and Yachting NZ have joined forces to make the most of New Zealand hosting three Women’s World Cups and the Sailing Grand Prix and further shape learning through sport in New Zealand schools and kura.

Dubai, August 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the Americas, Asia and EAP Qualifiers to the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup have been cancelled due to COVID-19.

Based on guidelines approved by the ICC Development Committee and the ICC Board, the three events cannot be staged. Therefore, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Papua New Guinea will all progress to the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022 on the basis of them securing the most wins in the last five U19 qualifying events in each respective region.

Member approved ICC COVID guidelines for all pathway events, which for the U19s specifically took into account the duty of care required for minors, clearly outline the parameters under which the events can or can’t go ahead due to COVID restrictions.

ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley said: “It is incredibly disappointing that three regional qualifiers to the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup have been cancelled due to COVID-19. Under the Member approved guidelines, where teams have withdrawn due to the impact caused by the pandemic, we had no other alternative but to cancel these three events.

“We have worked closely with all Members to try to ensure results can be determined on the field of play, however for these events it was not possible. Canada, the UAE and PNG will all progress to the U19 Men’s CWC in line with the decision taken by the ICC Board in November 2020 in relation to cancelled qualifying events.”

In addition, the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Africa has been relocated from Nigeria to Rwanda and will now be played from 30 September to 7 October due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The remaining two regional qualifiers are:
