Kashmiri Lives Matters – Solidarity Day 

Faisalabad, February 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):NTU expresses ‘tried and true’ support for Kashmiris. The three-day celebrations of Solidarity activities which includes Kashmir culture display, essay writing and dua for martyrs of Kashmir were organised by the members of NTU Arts and Culture Society.

A solidarity walk was arranged on campus whereas students and officials were carrying placards and banners on which slogans demonstrating solidarity with the people of Kashmir. Emphasised atrocities upon Kashmiri people and demanded from the world to play an active part to resolve and to stand by Kashmiri brethren and sisters against illegal Indian oppression by extending all political, moral and diplomatic support.

1st Meeting of GCF-Textiles (KnowTex) Advisory Committee 

Faisalabad, February 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):1st meeting of the GCF-Textiles (KnowTex) Advisory Committee was conducted on February 02, 2022, under the convenorship of Rector NTU, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain, to review the progress of GCF and to advise the consortium about future developments. Dr. Yasir Nawab (PI) gave a comprehensive presentation on the status of the project against KPIs of the first year.

The advisory committee appreciated the current progress of the project. Besides NTU members, the meeting was attended by Mr. Mujeeb Ullah Khan (CEO, iTextiles), Mr. Nabeel Abdullah (Director, Sapphire Textiles), Mr. Anees Khawaja (Director, Mahmood Group), Dr. Asad Sayeed (Director, Collective for Science), and Prof. Dr. Tahir Hussain Shah (UK).

Department of English holds a Certificate Distribution Ceremony 

Islamabad, February 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Department of English organized a Certificate Distribution Ceremony on February 04, 2022 to appreciate the students who participated in various departmental and interdepartmental competitions. Certificates were distributed among the participants of Poetry Recitation Competition and various interdepartmental male and female sports events including Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Table Tennis and Basketball. Dr. Umar Farooq, Head, Department of English, praised the participants and encouraged them to show their participation in the future events as well.

Academicians from Balochistan calls on Rector IIUI 

Islamabad, February 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):A delegation of the academicians from Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) and University of Balochistan called on Prof. Dr. Muhammad Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) at his Office. The delegation was comprised of Dr. Ayub Kakrr, Dr. Wali Tareen, Dr. Fazl Ur Rehman and Dr. Rauf Nasir.

During meeting matters pertaining to the uplift of Higher Education in the province of Balochistan, research, collaborations and students exchange programs with HEI’s of federal capital universities and other universities were discussed. IIUI Rector said on this occasion that education can bring significant change. He said we must invest on young minds as youth is a precious asset of Pakistan to bring revolutionary development.

IIUI Rector also assured the academia of Balochistan universities to extend full support from International Islamic University Islamabad in respect to provision of research, collaborations and student exchange programs for the students of universities from Balochistan.

RBDC, IIUI discuss Bilateral Cooperation 

Islamabad, February 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):A delegation of Rural Business Development Centre (RBDC) headed by its CEO Shahid Zia visited International Islamic University (IIU) on Tuesday. The delegation was received by Director General, International Institute of Islamic Economic (IIIE), Dr. Abdul Rashid here at new campus. The delegation had discussion-based meeting with university officials that was presided over by Rector, IIU Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, while it was also attended by Dean FMS, Dr. Abdul Rehman, Dean FSL Dr. Attaullah Faizi, Heads of the Departments of IIIE and Senior faculty members.

On the occasion, ways to explore bilateral cooperation in the regard of research and new economic models were explored. The experts of both sides shared thoughts on prevailing economic system. The CEO RBDC hailing the university researchers and scholars said that IIUI is of great help in producing tools compatible to the Islamic Development model. He also elaborated in a detailed briefing about the importance of the rural development model.

Rector IIU, on the occasion encouraged the interaction of the faculty and students with RBDC and stressed that future line of action in the light of possible joint collaboration objectives may be devised. He also stressed that, at micro level in the rural and urban areas, role of women entrepreneurship is vital and urged that participation of women in all the models must be a top priority.

Earlier. Dr. Abdul Rashid thanked the delegation and IIU Rector for sparing time and hoped that sharing of knowledge from both side would result in benefit of the society. He vowed that experts of IIIE shall be among the leading ranks for the welfare of society. It was agreed that involvement of young minds in the rural and urban economic models is pivotal for human welfare.

Recruitment Drive February 2022 

Lahore, February 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):Career Counselling Office, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore arranged a successful recruitment drive for fresh graduates and currently enrolled final year students on 7th February 2022. Firms like 7 Vals, Techlogix, WBM, Chongqing Peace and Trust Co. conducted tests and interviews of students from ten various disciplines Electrical (Power and Computer), Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer and Process, Civil, Metallurgical and Materials, Environmental, Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences and IBM.

Around 450-500 students and graduates appeared in this productive drive. The tests and interviews were held at Main Auditorium Complex, Computer Labs of Electrical Engineering Department, Computer Lab of Computer Engineering Department and Computer Lab of Civil Engineering Department.
