Rawalpindi: A calligraphy workshop was organized at the Punjab Arts Council in collaboration with the Iranian Cultural Center, bringing together renowned Iranian and local calligraphers to train young artists. The workshop, attended by over 60 students from various universities, concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony.
According to Punjab Arts Council, the event featured prominent Iranian calligrapher Saeed Reza Kamrani and local experts Khawaja Muhammad Hussain, Shabbir Ahmed Zia, and Muhammad Azeem Iqbal, who provided training to aspiring calligraphers. The Director General of the Iranian Cultural Center in Rawalpindi, Dr. Mehdi Taheri, served as the chief guest at the ceremony, emphasizing the cultural affinity between Pakistan and Iran. Dr. Taheri announced plans for further cultural collaborations with the Punjab Arts Council.
Naheed Manzoor, Resident Director of the Punjab Arts Council, highlighted the council’s efforts to promote the art of calligraphy and praised the dedication of the youth involved. She expressed gratitude to the Iranian Cultural Center for facilitating the event by inviting experts from Iran. Sajjad Hussain, Director of the Arts Council, noted Iran’s rich history in architecture and calligraphy, underscoring the council’s commitment to strengthening cultural ties with Iran.
