Badin, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has committed to fighting inflation, unemployment, and poverty, envisioning a transformative role as Prime Minister if the PPP secures a decisive victory in the upcoming elections on February 8.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, speaking at a public meeting in Rahuki near Badin on the martyrdom day of Shaheed Muhammad Fazil Rahu, Zardari outlined his pledge to the nation. He emphasized his readiness to travel across Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan with his party’s manifesto, seeking public support to implement his 10-point economic agenda.
Zardari criticized an unnamed political adversary who aspires to become Prime Minister for the fourth time, accusing him of lacking ideology, manifesto, and direct voter engagement. He condemned the rival’s political tactics as divisive and harmful to Pakistan and its people, questioning the rationale behind offering another chance to a thrice-failed leader.
The PPP chairman expressed his deep concern for the populace, focusing on issues such as hunger, unemployment, inflation, and poverty. He highlighted the electoral battle between the PPP and Muslim League (N), pledging to prevent his opponent from securing the prime ministerial position for the fourth time.
Zardari stated that the PPP is the only party actively campaigning across the country, positioning himself as the party’s prime ministerial candidate. He urged the ‘Jiyalas’, the party workers, to engage in door-to-door campaigns, informing the public about the “People’s Economic Charter.”
He recalled the PPP’s legacy of serving the people, particularly the poor, farmers, and workers, whenever in power. Zardari promised the expansion of the Benazir Income Support Program and the introduction of new initiatives such as the Benazir Kisan Card, Benazir Mazdoor Card, and Benazir Youth Card to provide financial support to farmers, laborers, and youth. He also pledged the launch of the ‘Hunger Eradication Programme’ to ensure no child goes to bed hungry.
Zardari appealed to the public and political workers to rally behind the PPP, positioning himself as a leader fighting for the people’s interests, unlike other politicians embroiled in internal conflicts.
He emphasized the incoming government’s commitment to public participation in budgeting and development projects, promising open houses for development plan formulation. Additionally, Zardari announced plans for the establishment of Shaheed Fazil Rahu Medical University and an NICVD unit in Badin district, advocating for accessible education and healthcare facilities in every district.
The PPP chairman also administered an oath to the party’s National Assembly and Sindh Assembly candidates. He emphasized their responsibility to serve their constituencies effectively post-election, prioritizing public service over personal or familial interests.

Karachi, The General Secretary of the Pasban Democratic Party, Iqbal Hashmi, has called for the rejection of the recently announced results for classes 9 and 11, demanding a recheck and the announcement of new results within 15 days. This statement comes amid allegations of corruption and mismanagement within the examination system.
According to Pasban Democratic Party, Hashmi expressed grave concerns over the integrity of the examination results released by the education board. He argued that the results should be declared null and void, with a complete re-evaluation to be conducted within a two-week period. Hashmi’s statement emphasized the urgency of halting the current admission process to public and private universities based on these results, due to potential inaccuracies and injustices.
The party accused the board office’s alleged ‘corruption mafia’ of extorting money from students and parents, manipulating positions and marks. Hashmi warned of a strong public protest outside the board office if the right actions are not taken promptly. He asserted that the party would not remain silent against such oppression and would take legal action if necessary.
The Pasban Democratic Party also called for the caretaker government and the Governor of Sindh to take direct action in this matter, emphasizing the need for immediate intervention to protect the future of the youth. Hashmi proposed that the government school system in the city should be handed over to parents and suggested the formation of a Board of Governors in the board office, with majority representation for parents. This, he argued, would ensure a more democratic operation of the education system.
Further, Hashmi highlighted the disparities in the success rates of candidates from Karachi and Inner Sindh, citing them as evidence of the need to abolish the quota system. He criticized the People’s Party for what he described as consistent rigging in election and examination results, and called for legal action against the exam mafia and those involved in bribery.
The Pasban Democratic Party expressed solidarity with affected students and vowed to continue fighting for student rights, underscoring the urgency of addressing these alleged injustices in the education sector.
