Lahore, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, addressing a ceremony organized by the PPP’s Women Wing in Lahore, emphasized the critical awareness and role of Pakistani women in understanding and addressing the country’s challenges. The event commemorated the 96th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, Chairman Bilawal recognized the unique insights women possess regarding the increasing inflation and poverty in Pakistan. He highlighted their understanding of the struggles faced by families in managing healthcare, education, and employment amidst financial constraints. Bilawal stressed that women know the real impact of the economic crisis on daily lives, making them crucial in the nation’s progress.
Chairman Bilawal urged the women workers of PPP to become his ambassadors and advocates, carrying the party’s ideology to every household. He tasked them with informing people about the PPP’s longstanding commitment to the underprivileged, contrasting it with other parties’ focus on the elite. He recalled the legacy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in representing the poor, criticizing the imposition of parties like PML-N and PTI in Punjab for their elitist approach.
Bilawal laid out the ’10 promises’ of the PPP, focusing on tangible improvements for the people of Punjab and Pakistan. These promises include doubling incomes within five years to increase buying power, providing 300 units of free electricity to the poor, and expanding the Benazir Income Support Programme. He also mentioned introducing ‘Benazir Mazdoor Card,’ ‘Benazir Kissan Card,’ and ‘Benazir Youth Card’ to support laborers, farmers, and youth.
Emphasizing the PPP’s commitment to uniting the country beyond traditional politics of hate and division, Bilawal outlined plans for free healthcare, educational institutions, and initiatives to eradicate hunger. He called on the party’s women workers to spread awareness of the PPP’s manifesto, particularly among the female population, to ensure the party’s victory.
Chairman Bilawal concluded by expressing his gratitude to the women workers for organizing the ceremony in honor of Shaheed Quaid-e-Awam in Lahore.
