Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in his message for the International Day of Peace, has strongly denounced the actions of India and Israel, labeling them as threats to global harmony. He endorsed the UN’s theme, “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” urging the international community to address these ongoing conflicts.
Mr. Bhutto Zardari stressed that genuine tranquility involves more than just the absence of warfare. He defined it as the existence of fairness, equality, and reciprocal regard among countries. He emphasized that peace is essential for advancement, asserting that without it, democracy deteriorates, justice is compromised, and the human spirit endures hardship.
The PPP chairman honored Pakistan’s founders and those who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s vision of dignity, justice, and harmony. He highlighted the PPP’s history of advocating for peace, both domestically and internationally, under the guidance of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
He cautioned that fanaticism, economic hardship, and disparity pose significant dangers to stability and concord. Mr. Bhutto Zardari argued that genuine harmony cannot be established on silence or subjugation but requires community fairness, the empowerment of vulnerable populations, and the safeguarding of basic human rights. He reiterated that a peaceful Pakistan is not only the nation’s desire but also a responsibility for coming generations.
Denouncing international inequities, Mr. Bhutto Zardari criticized the actions of Israeli defense forces in Gaza and the Indian presence in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He characterized these events as tragedies that scar the world’s conscience and demand prompt global action.
Mr. Bhutto Zardari reaffirmed the PPP’s commitment to a peaceful, democratic, and forward-thinking Pakistan. He stated that the party will continue its endeavors to uphold the ideals of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, remember the sacrifices of its people, and contribute significantly to international concord, stability, and cooperation.
