Bahria University Seeks Assistant Director for Innovation and Commercialization

Lahore, Bahria University has announced a vacancy for the position of Assistant Director – Innovation and Commercialization (I and C), inviting applications from qualified candidates until March 4, 2024. The role is pivotal in enhancing the university’s research, innovation, and commercialization efforts, seeking an individual with a strong background in university management, particularly within the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC).

According to Bahria University, the ideal candidate should possess an MS/MPhil or equivalent degree from an HEC-recognized university, coupled with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. The position demands evidence of managerial and communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, and experience in handling official documentation and networking with academicians and researchers. Additionally, the candidate is expected to have knowledge of research publications, journals, funded research projects, intellectual property rights (IPRs), and technology transfer methodologies, including patent filing.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for developing and promoting the university’s interests in innovation and commercialization through both local and national research networks. This includes providing support and guidance on related policies to faculty members and researchers, setting goals within the research ecosystem, and developing commercialization plans for research. The role involves working closely with the Director of ORIC to establish a conducive environment for innovation and ensuring effective communication of research outputs and impacts.

The successful applicant will also assist in liaising with funding agencies, developing knowledge of research projects and opportunities for research funding, maintaining research databases, and establishing connections with intellectual property offices. This position is integral to fostering a dynamic research and innovation ecosystem within Bahria University.
