Australia Announces Action-Packed Home Summer Schedule Featuring India and Pakistan

Melbourne, Cricket Australia has unveiled a dynamic schedule for the upcoming home summer, featuring a landmark five-match Test series against India and a series of white-ball games against Pakistan. This announcement sets the stage for an enthralling season of cricket, with major international contests set to captivate fans across the country.

According to International Cricket Council, the summer’s highlight will be the extended Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India, starting with a Test in Perth on November 22. This marks the first five-game series between Australia and India since the summer of 1991/92, underscoring the significance of this encounter in the cricket calendar. Matches will be held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, culminating in early January.

Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley expressed excitement about the upcoming summer, emphasizing the global anticipation for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series and the Women’s Ashes. Hockley highlighted the equal footing of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with The Ashes, reflecting the importance of the series and its potential to attract large viewership and attendance.

The schedule also includes Pakistan’s visit to Australia for three ODIs and three T20Is in early November, kickstarting the home season. Following this, Australia’s women’s team will host New Zealand for three T20Is in September and India for three ODIs in early December, before focusing on the multi-format Women’s Ashes series against England.

The Women’s Ashes will feature three ODIs, three T20Is, and a historic day-night Test match at the MCG at the end of January, promising a comprehensive showcase of top-tier women’s cricket.
