Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi celebrated the legacy of renowned poet Ahmed Faraz with a session titled "Aur Faraz Chahiyein Kitni Mohabbatein Tujhe" at the Haseena Moin Hall on the occasion of his birth anniversary. The event featured prominent speakers and poets who shared their insights and recited Faraz's poetry.

The session began with a short reel showcasing Ahmed Faraz's literary life, setting the stage for a series of discussions led by distinguished guests such as poetess Zehra Nigah and Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah. Their reflections on Faraz's impact on Urdu poetry captivated the audience.

Muhammad Ahmed Shah highlighted Faraz's deep connections with society and his roots in Punjab, noting the influence of Persian poetry on his work. Shah shared that Faraz began writing at a young age and was actively involved in the Progressive Writers' Movement. He emphasized Faraz's bold voice in both romantic and protest poetry.

Zehra Nigah, in her remarks, praised Faraz's ability to maintain fame and dignity, emphasizing the emotional depth of his poetry. She spoke about Faraz's role in elevating Urdu poetry and his respect for fellow poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Nigah underscored the lasting impact of Faraz's work on readers and poets alike.

The event was attended by several literary figures, including Noor-ul-Huda Shah, Professor Sahar Ansari, and Ambareen Haseeb Amber, among others. Attendees participated in reciting Faraz's poetry, adding to the celebration's atmosphere.

A cake-cutting ceremony marked the poet's birth anniversary, and the Arts Council expressed its commitment to regularly hosting sessions that honor significant figures in art and literature.
