PTI Sindh Chief Demands Clarity on Elected KP Leadership’s Whereabouts

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh has called for the disclosure of the whereabouts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's elected leadership. He urged for comprehensive accountability and the restoration of constitutional supremacy to address the nation's political turmoil.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Haleem Adil Sheikh raised concerns about the missing chief minister and speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province with a population of approximately 45 to 50 million. He questioned the government's claims about the leaders' safety, given their inaccessibility.

Sheikh also pointed to announced anti-terrorism operations, noting the absence of visible actions, except against encroachments. He reiterated PTI's zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, insisting that accountability should be non-discriminatory and applicable to all.

The PTI Sindh president highlighted the imprisonment of former prime minister Imran Khan and his family members, citing indifference to their reported health issues. He claimed PTI workers were suffering in jails, with some reportedly dying, and leaders facing lengthy sentences.

Sheikh argued that the country needed to overcome what he described as fascism and political victimisation. He alleged electoral mandate theft and called for its restoration, claiming the current system had failed to resolve the crisis.

He demanded meetings with Imran Khan and the release of his family members. Emphasizing constitutional supremacy and judicial independence, Sheikh stated these were crucial for the nation's recovery and the release of PTI leaders and workers.

Sheikh concluded by asserting that only through constitutional adherence, an independent judiciary, and respect for the public mandate could the country emerge from its crisis.
