Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has addressed recent media reports that it claims misrepresent the process of selecting its Vice Presidents. IIUI asserts that the reports inaccurately depict both its internal selection procedures and the legal proceedings underway at the Islamabad High Court.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the selection process for the Vice Presidents was conducted in compliance with the IIUI Ordinance-1985 and approved by the Board of Governors. The University states that no adverse orders or findings have been issued by the Islamabad High Court regarding the appointments. It emphasizes that any notice or request for clarification from the court is part of normal judicial procedures, misrepresented as findings of wrongdoing by a former legal advisor.
IIUI further alleges that the former legal advisor, removed following a Supreme Court directive, has been involved in spreading misleading narratives to tarnish the University's reputation. The University notes that the media reports failed to include its perspective and did not contact its official spokesperson for comment before publication, which it argues violates journalistic standards of accuracy and fairness.
The University reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and integrity, expressing confidence in the legal process. It reserves the right to pursue legal action against those it deems responsible for defaming the institution for personal gain.
