Delegation from Grameen Jano Unnayan Sangstha Bangladesh Visits UVAS for Leadership Training

Lahore: A delegation of 24 officials from Grameen Jano Unnayan Sangstha (GJUS), a Bangladesh-based NGO, led by Director Zakir Hussain Mohsin, visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore. The visit aimed at leadership management training for the capacity building of GJUS staff and fostering educational and research collaborations.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the delegation was received by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani. A meeting was held with the participation of senior faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science, and Prof. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman, Dean Faculty of Bio-sciences. Discussions centered on leadership training, promoting educational and research linkages, and enhancing cultural understanding between students and professionals from both countries.

Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani welcomed the delegation to UVAS, highlighting the 144-year history of the institution. He presented a documentary showcasing UVAS’s research, development efforts, and collaborations with national and international entities. Dr. Rabbani mentioned initiatives by the Government of Punjab, such as providing loans to small livestock farmers and empowering rural women in poultry and livestock farming. He emphasized UVAS’s commitment to advancing the livestock, poultry, meat, and dairy sectors in Punjab, and expressed optimism about the prospective collaboration between UVAS and GJUS, which could offer valuable learning opportunities and shared experiences.
