Sargodha: The University of Sargodha marked Pakistan's 79th Independence Day with a series of events, beginning with a flag-hoisting ceremony and including competitions emphasizing patriotic themes and national pride.

According to University of Sargodha, the celebrations were inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, who was joined by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, faculty members, staff, and a large number of children. The event featured the national anthem and patriotic songs, fostering a spirit of national pride among attendees. Prof. Dr. Abbas highlighted the significance of Independence Day as a moment to recommit to Pakistan's progress through dedication and integrity, emphasizing the role of youth in national development.

The celebrations included a range of activities organized by the Riaz Shad Co-curricular Forum, such as an Urdu speech competition, essay writing, quizzes, and a national songs competition. Students showcased their talents and reflected on the nation's history and their responsibilities. In recognition of their efforts, cash prizes were awarded to the top performers. Additionally, the Directorate of Sports hosted exhibition cricket matches and karate performances, with Sargodha District Police Officer Muhammad Tauqeer Naeem in attendance as the chief guest. The events saw enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff, students, and children.
