Sargodha: The University of Sargodha and Bayer Pakistan (Private) Limited have formalized a partnership aimed at advancing agricultural research and technological innovation. The memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed on Monday, marks a significant step toward enhancing agricultural productivity and promoting food security in Pakistan.
According to University of Sargodha, the agreement represents Bayer Pakistan's inaugural formal collaboration with a higher education institution in the country. The two entities will work together to evaluate, develop, and implement solutions in crop protection, biotechnology, and sustainable farming practices. A joint consultative committee has been established to guide the partnership's implementation, with Dr. Muhammad Kamran and Ms. Iffat Naseem designated as focal persons for the university and Bayer Pakistan, respectively.
The MoU was signed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Bayer Pakistan's Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Ali. The ceremony was attended by key figures, including the Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awam, university deans and directors, as well as Bayer Pakistan's country head and leadership team. The collaboration is set to foster joint research initiatives, strengthen ties between academia and industry, and contribute to addressing challenges in Pakistan's agriculture sector.
