KARACHI: Karachi Police and Pakistan Eye Bank Society (PEBS) Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Karachi Police Office to enhance healthcare services for current and retired police personnel and their immediate families. The agreement, signed by Qazi Sajid Ali, President of PEBS, and Azad Khan, Additional Inspector General of Police, Karachi Range, aims to improve healthcare access for the police community.
According to Pakistan Eye Bank Society, the MoU will provide beneficiaries with free access to a range of healthcare services at PEBS Hospital, covering ophthalmology, cardiology, diabetes care, dentistry, haemodialysis, and various surgeries including oral and breast cancer, and maxillofacial surgery. Additionally, a unique screening program will be introduced to promote early detection and prevention of oral pre-cancer and oral cancer among Karachi Police personnel.
The agreement was witnessed by Dr. Jehanzeb Mughal, Head of the Oral, Maxillofacial & Cancer Surgery Unit at PEBS Hospital, and Ahmed Nawaz Cheema, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration), Karachi Range. The initiative is seen as a crucial step in enhancing institutional collaboration and supporting the welfare of law enforcement officers who operate under challenging conditions.
