Lahore: Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, TI, chaired a strategic meeting aimed at enhancing research commercialization, innovation, and industry engagement at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. The meeting saw active participation from key figures including the Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Prof. Dr. S. Mohsin Ali Kazmi, and the Director of the Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Shahzad Asif.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the discussions centered on identifying opportunities to accelerate the commercialization of research outputs and improving technology transfer processes. The meeting also explored ways to strengthen collaborations between academia and industry to transform innovative ideas and research into solutions that can drive economic growth and societal advancement.

Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir highlighted the necessity of developing a strong innovation ecosystem at the university. He called for the establishment of robust support systems for entrepreneurship and partnerships with industry, with the goal of maximizing the tangible impact of research and development initiatives.
