Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has signed an agreement with Energy Conscious Engineering (ECE) (Pvt.) Ltd. to install a 400 kW solar power system at its New Campus in Kala Shah Kaku (KSK), a move expected to cut energy costs significantly.

According to University of Engineering and Technology, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, stated that this project underscores the university's commitment to renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. The initiative is aimed at encouraging the use of clean solar energy while reducing electricity expenses. The solar system is projected to generate financial savings for the university and enhance the campus's green energy capacity.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Abid Shahzad Aslam, Treasurer of UET Lahore, and the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Conscious Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. Prof. Dr. Munir noted that UET Lahore is implementing several projects focused on energy efficiency and student-friendly facilities. He acknowledged the efforts of committees, technical experts, and stakeholders involved in the project's tendering and planning processes.

The solar power project is a milestone in UET Lahore's efforts toward a sustainable future.
