UVAS and FonGrow Sign MoU for Collaboration in Livestock Production and Biotechnology

LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and FonGrow Private Limited (FGPL) have formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing livestock production and reproductive biotechnology. The agreement was signed by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani of UVAS and Secretary FGPL Col (retd) Rai Kashif Amin Khan during a ceremony at the UVAS campus, attended by faculty deans and other stakeholders.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the collaboration will focus on education, research, capacity building, and technology transfer in the specified fields. Both organizations plan to conduct joint student internship and training programs, as well as professional short courses and capacity-building activities. Additionally, the partnership includes student and faculty exchange programs, and the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for farm management, semen production units, in vitro fertilization, and systems for knowledge transfer.

The Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics at UVAS has been designated as the lead technical unit for overseeing quantitative genetics, genomic evaluation, and advanced statistical analyses of the livestock herds managed by FonGrow.
