Lodhran: The voter registration rate in Lodhran has reached 59% of its projected 2025 population, exceeding the national average of 54%. This statistic highlights significant engagement in the electoral process within the district, as reported by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
According to Free and Fair Election Network, the figures were extracted from district-wise electoral roll statistics released by the ECP on December 30, 2025. The data was cross-referenced with population estimates from the 2023 Digital Census, which projected Lodhran's population to reach 2,011,319 by 2025. The methodology involved applying an annual growth rate of 2.13% to the district’s census base population of 1,928,299. With 1.2 million registered voters, Lodhran ranks 25th in voter registration rates nationally and 15th within Punjab.
The district's voter base comprises 632,284 males, accounting for 53.1%, and 557,796 females, making up 46.9%. Among the male population, 61% are registered voters, while female voter registration stands at 57%. Lodhran is represented by two Members of the National Assembly and ranks 43rd in population size out of 136 districts in the country.
The higher registration rate in Lodhran can be attributed to two specific rules from Pakistan's 2023 Digital Census. These rules excluded household members absent for over six months from being enumerated at their home address and recorded previous household members at their current address instead of their origin. This framework notably impacts Lodhran, where labor migration to urban centers such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad is common, leading to a smaller population denominator and a higher voter registration percentage.
Despite the district's impressive overall voter registration rate, the gender gap remains a concern, with female voters constituting 46.9% of the electorate, reflecting a moderate gender gap of 6.3%. Efforts to achieve equitable female voter registration continue to be a priority for local authorities.
