KARACHI: In a significant development, the Sindh High Court has suspended the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2024 conducted by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) following challenges to their fairness. This decision has been welcomed by Altaf Shakoor, Chairman of the Pasban Democratic Party (PDP), who emphasized the need for corruption-free competitive exams in Sindh.
According to Pasban Democratic Party, Shakoor highlighted the poor track record of the SPSC in conducting transparent exams, noting that higher courts have previously suspended their results due to corruption allegations. He questioned why Sindh remains the only province where competitive exams for government positions are plagued by corruption and mismanagement, attributing this to the provincial administration’s failure to provide good governance.
Shakoor pointed to widespread corruption and bad governance in various sectors, including public transport projects and public service exams, suggesting involvement at the highest levels of government. He criticized the Sindh government’s focus on financial gains through bribes and kickbacks, contrasting it with efforts in other provinces to improve governance.
In response to these issues, Shakoor called for the removal of politically installed members from the SPSC to ensure an unbiased and fair selection process for bureaucrats based on merit.
