Lahore: A two-day national workshop focusing on “Madrassa: Personal and Institutional Development” began today at Jamia Naeemia in Lahore. The event has gathered over 50 madrassa teachers from different religious schools of thought.
Organized by the Iqbal International Institute for Research & Dialogue, the workshop aims to advance professional development for madrassa educators. It seeks to promote dialogue, harmony, and critical reflection within religious institutions.
Mr. Nasir Farid, Additional Director at IRD, inaugurated the workshop. He emphasized the need for collaborative approaches in madrassa education to achieve meaningful progress.
Sahibzada Amanat Rasool, a noted religious scholar, delivered a keynote address on “Dialogue and Harmony.” He underlined the necessity for inter-sectarian understanding and peaceful coexistence in the religious domain.
The workshop featured a presentation by Dr. Ammar Khan Nasir on “Contemporary Challenges Faced by Madrassa Teachers and Practical Solutions.” He stressed the importance of pedagogical reform and contextual awareness for educators.
Dr. Mubashir Hussain from the University of the Punjab spoke on “The Importance of Critical Thinking in the Contemporary Era.” His presentation highlighted the role of intellectual engagement in enhancing religious education.
The workshop will continue tomorrow, offering more interactive sessions. It aims to provide participants with practical tools to improve their personal growth and institutional effectiveness.
