IIUI Student Laraib Khan Wins Prestigious McCall MacBain Regional Award

Islamabad: Laraib Khan, a student at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), has been awarded the C$10,000 McCall MacBain Regional Award for her higher studies in Canada. Recognized for her leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement, Khan was selected from top candidates in South Asia.

According to a statement by International Islamic University Islamabad, Laraib Khan is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Media and Communication Studies. Her contributions include volunteering at the National Institute for Health, leading discussions at IIUI’s Media Forum, and mentoring Afghan women in content creation. She also gained experience as a junior communications officer at CERN in 2022.

Laraib Khan expressed that the application process was both a journey of self-reflection and discovery, emphasizing that the award represents more than just financial aid but also a transformative experience.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, President of IIUI, congratulated Khan, highlighting her success as a reflection of the university’s commitment to fostering student talent and preparing them for global opportunities. He urged students to pursue their academic and professional aspirations with dedication.

Faculty members at the Female Campus of IIUI also praised Khan’s achievement, encouraging students to seek international opportunities and excel in their fields.
