Karachi: Following a recent terrorist attack in Bannu, leaders from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan (JUI) have issued a strong condemnation, calling the incident a deliberate effort to destabilize Pakistan and stressing the need for political unity and decisive action against terrorism.
According to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, the joint statement was made by Hafiz Ahmad Ali, the Central Deputy Secretary General, and Rana Muhammad Sabir, President of the Youth Wing Karachi, among other officials. They described the attack as part of a troubling pattern aimed at weakening Pakistan’s security frameworks and emphasized that overcoming such challenges is crucial for the nation’s survival and security.
The leaders highlighted that the timing of the attack, occurring just as the government announced a major anti-terrorism operation, suggests it was meant to preempt security measures. They pointed out that ongoing regional instabilities and external influences, including alleged involvement by India, continue to pose serious threats to Pakistan’s stability.
The statement also called on Pakistani politicians to set aside personal differences and unite against common threats to ensure the nation’s future security and interests. The leaders mourned the sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers and stressed the importance of a cohesive national strategy to address and eradicate terrorism effectively.
