Islamabad: The Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, visited the headquarters of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) on Thursday to discuss enhancing bilateral humanitarian cooperation. This meeting marked a significant step in strengthening the historic partnership between the two organizations, focusing on disaster management, health, and other critical areas.
According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Chairman Laghari was received by KRCS Chairman H.E Dr. Hilal Musaed Al- Sayer, along with other senior officials. The visit facilitated discussions on shared humanitarian challenges and reinforced the enduring bond between Pakistan and Kuwait. Chairman Laghari acknowledged the critical support Kuwait has provided during various crises, including the 2005 earthquake and the floods of 2010 and 2022.
During his remarks, Dr. Al-Sayer lauded the resilient partnership and the exemplary humanitarian efforts of PRCS. A new cooperation agreement was signed to further enhance relief collaborations, focusing on several sectors such as Climate Change and Youth Engagement. Both leaders expressed a commitment to continue their collaborative efforts and explore new avenues for support.
Highlighting the importance of direct engagement, Chairman Laghari invited KRCS to establish a delegation office in Pakistan, an invitation that was warmly received by Dr. Al-Sayer, who, along with the Secretary General, plans to visit the PRCS National Headquarters soon.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields, symbolizing the strong and collaborative relationship between the two Red Crescent societies.
