Chakwal Music Competition Celebrates Local Talent, Encourages Artistic Growth

Chakwal, A vibrant music competition recently held at the District Council Hall showcased Chakwal’s rich musical heritage and local talent, with numerous participants competing for top honors. The event, orchestrated by the Punjab Arts Council, highlighted both the deep-rooted classical music traditions of the area and the promising future of its young artists.

According to Punjab Arts Council, the competition drew enthusiastic participants from across the district, emphasizing the area’s strong cultural commitment to the arts. Khawar Bashir Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue of Chakwal, served as the chief guest at the event’s prize distribution ceremony. He commended the efforts of the Punjab Arts Council in fostering a vibrant arts scene in Chakwal. The competition concluded with the announcement of Mishal Malik, Shuja Haider, and Mehak Ali as the winners, securing first, second, and third places respectively, with awards of 10,000, 20,000, and 15,000 rupees.

The event also served as an acknowledgment of Chakwal’s significant contributions to national and international music stages, thanks to the district’s notable classical music families. The Arts Council, under the direction of Sajjad Hussain, and with the support of local administration, including Deputy Commissioner Qurat ul Ain Malik and the police, expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort that made the event possible. The council also stressed the importance of music in enhancing intellectual skills, emotional depth, and societal well-being.
