Gilani Inaugurates RO Plant in Lahore, Commits to Sustainable Water Management

Lahore, Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani laid the foundation stone for a new reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant in Lahore on Sunday, affirming the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) dedication to supporting sustainable water management and public welfare.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, during his address to the media following the ceremony, Gilani emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6, which focuses on ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by 2030. He praised the efforts of those working towards providing clean drinking water and underscored the importance of global cooperation in addressing water issues.

Gilani also addressed national security and the importance of unity in confronting challenges on both the eastern and western borders of Pakistan, as well as internal threats from terrorism and extremism. He reiterated PPP’s support for government initiatives aimed at benefiting farmers, youth, and laborers, and highlighted the need for political dialogue and stability to ensure economic security.
