Hafiz Naeem Rehman Elected New Leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan

Lahore, Hafiz Naeem Rehman has been elected as the new Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, marking a significant leadership change in the political party. Rehman will serve as the sixth Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, with his tenure extending until April 2029.

According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, the election was announced in Mansurah, where Rashid Naseem, the chief of the Jamaat-e-Islami Election Commission, revealed that Hafiz Naeemur Rahman had secured the majority vote. The election process, which saw a participation rate of 82 percent from the Jamaat’s 45,000 members, was conducted through a secret ballot, adhering to the organization’s democratic principles.

The selection process, led by the Election Commission, which is accountable to the Majlis Shura of Jamaat-e-Islami, was completed on April 3, concluding the party’s 19th Ameer election. The commission, elected by the Majlis Shura, ensures that the leadership transition occurs transparently.

Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, born in 1972 in Hyderabad and later moving to Karachi, has been a prominent figure in the party, especially noted for his leadership in Karachi. He has been involved in student politics, served in various capacities within Jamaat-e-Islami, and has been active in addressing the civic and administrative challenges of Karachi. His electoral success and the trust placed in him during the recent general elections underscore his popularity and effectiveness as a leader.

Under Rahman’s leadership, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi has been a vocal advocate for local governance rights and public services improvements.
