Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Honors Pakistani Women on International Women’s Day

Islamabad, In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has delivered a heartfelt tribute to the contributions of Pakistani women to the nation’s development. He emphasized their essential role in nation-building and underscored the significance of recognizing their efforts on this global day celebrating women’s achievements.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Chairman Zardari praised the PPP’s historical dedication to women’s rights and empowerment, a commitment he traced back to the era of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Under Bhutto’s leadership, policies were established that significantly empowered women and encouraged their participation across various societal facets.

Chairman Zardari also celebrated the achievements under Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, the first woman prime minister of a Muslim-majority nation. He recalled her significant contributions, such as the First Women Bank and Women Police Stations, along with programs that enhanced women’s health and rights, like the Lady Health Workers Program and Land Allotment to Women Peasants Program.

He went on to highlight the continuity of these efforts under President Asif Ali Zardari, noting landmark initiatives such as the Benazir Income Support Program and various pro-women laws that were instrumental in advancing the status of women in Pakistan.
