NTC Visiting Team Reviews Engineering Programs at IIUI

Islamabad, In an effort to assess and enhance the quality of engineering education, a visiting team from the National Technology Council (NTC) led by Prof. Dr. Anwar Khitab, an expert in civil engineering, met with Dr. Hathal Momoud Alotaibi, the President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). The team’s visit focused on the re-accreditation of engineering technology programs within the disciplines of Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical at the university’s Faculty of Engineering Technology (FET).

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the NTC team, comprising Prof. Dr. Shahid Maqsood, an expert in mechanical engineering, and Prof. Dr. Gulistan Raja, an expert in electrical engineering, aimed to evaluate the current state and potential improvements of the engineering technology programs. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Khan Zaib Jadoon, Dean of the FET, Dr. Rashid Farooq, Chairman of Civil Engineering, and Dr. Syed Athar Masood, Incharge of Academic Affairs.

During the discussions, the importance of IIUI in the promotion of engineering and technology education was highlighted. The Dean of FET briefed the visiting team on the curriculum, the adoption of an Outcome-Based Education System, and other relevant aspects of the university’s engineering programs.

Dr. Alotaibi emphasized the university’s commitment to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, recognizing its crucial role in contributing to both the university’s and society’s advancement. He also highlighted the university’s efforts to strengthen academia-industry linkages, particularly through initiatives spearheaded by the FET. The visit signifies a step towards ensuring the quality and relevance of IIUI’s engineering technology programs, aligning them with national and international standards.
