Islamabad, In a recent gathering in Islamabad, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi met with players participating in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9. The meeting, held at a local hotel, served as an opportunity for the chairman to commend the players for their national representation and to discuss the PCB’s vision for the future of Pakistani cricket. PCB COO Salman Naseer, Chief Selector Wahab Riaz, and other officials were also present during the meeting.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the chairman’s address to the players highlighted the importance of unity and merit within the team. Naqvi stressed the PCB’s commitment to fostering a work environment where high performers and quality players are recognized and given ample opportunities. He urged the players to adopt a fighting spirit regardless of match outcomes, reminding them of the nation’s cricket enthusiasts who ardently support the team’s endeavors.
In his remarks, Naqvi also outlined the PCB’s plans for infrastructural enhancements, including major venue upgrades across the country, aimed at improving facilities for players and fans alike. Additionally, the chairman shed light on the team’s preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, mentioning scheduled home and away series against New Zealand, Ireland, and England, respectively. The board plans to organize a strength and conditioning camp to ready the players for the upcoming international cricket season, culminating in the T20 World Cup in the USA.
