Rawalpindi, In an effort to leverage its high-profile HBL Pakistan Super League platform, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is dedicating specific matches to breast and childhood cancer awareness. The PSL, known for thrilling cricket action, will now also serve a significant cause by drawing attention to these critical health issues.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the PSL match between Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans on 5 March at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi will observe Pink Ribbon Day. This day will focus on raising awareness about breast cancer. Players, commentators, and other participants will wear pink ribbons and pink caps to show support for the cause, and awareness messages will be prominently displayed and announced throughout the stadium.
Furthermore, Gold Ribbon Day will be commemorated on 12 March during the game between Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, drawing attention to childhood cancer. The venue will adopt a gold theme as players and commentators support the cause with gold ribbons and caps.
In a significant gesture of solidarity, the PCB has extended an invitation to four cancer patients to attend the Gold Ribbon Day event in Karachi. These guests will receive a warm welcome and signed shirts from both participating teams, symbolizing support from the cricket community.
