Islamabad, The International Islamic University’s Shariah Academy recently concluded its 65th regular Shariah course for the legal fraternity, including judges, Qazis, attorneys, law officers, and prosecutors. The four-month-long program ended with a ceremony at the Faisal Mosque, highlighted by an address from the university’s president, H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi. The course provided 26 participants from across Pakistan with extensive training in contemporary legal issues, international labor law, and medical issues related to Islamic law, alongside international visits for broader legal exposure.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the program included inland tours where participants visited various courts and ministries within Pakistan, as well as international trips to Turkey, Jordan, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These visits aimed to exchange experiences and learn from the judicial and legal practices in these countries. The course culminated in the performance of Umrah by the participants.
In his closing remarks, President Alotaibi emphasized the rich legacy of the Islamic legal system and its contributions to global knowledge, particularly in law, medicine, applied sciences, and governance. He highlighted the importance of Taqwa and adherence to Islamic teachings in the execution of justice. The President also outlined future goals for the Shariah Academy, including the launch of academic programs at the PhD level.
Dr. Atta ullah Faizi, Director General of the Shariah Academy, expressed gratitude towards President Alotaibi for his support and outlined plans for ongoing engagement with the course’s alumni to ensure the practical application of their training. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of shields and certificates to the participants, celebrating their successful completion of the program.
