Pakistan Army and HEC Dominate at National Women’s Baseball Championship

Lahore, The Pakistan Army and Higher Education Commission (HEC) teams emerged victorious in their respective matches on the second day of the 18th National Women’s Baseball Championship, showcasing their prowess in the sport. The championship, hosted by the Pakistan Federation Baseball at Lahore FC College, saw the Army team securing a significant win against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with a score of 18-0, and the HEC team outperforming Islamabad with a 14-2 victory, both under the mercy rule.

According to Pakistan Federation Baseball, the first match of the day featured a dominant performance by the Pakistan Army team, with players Atiya Saif, Maida Batul, Zahida Ghani, Asia Siddiqa, Fareeha Nayab, Momina, Rashida Parveen, Rabia Shahid, and Samia Khalid scoring two runs each against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The subsequent match saw the HEC team overpowering Islamabad, thanks to notable contributions from Mah Noor, who scored 3 runs, and Alina, Hafizah, and Khadija Zeb, each adding two runs to the tally. Islamabad’s efforts were marked by Shazia Javed and Chaman Mushtaq, who managed to score one run each.

The event was graced by the presence of Mohammad Mohsin Khan, President of the Sindh Baseball Association, as the chief guest for the day. Other dignitaries included Syed Fakhr Ali Shah, Secretary General of the Pakistan Federation Baseball, Vice President Muhammad Jameel Kamran, Muhammad Ayaz Khan, and Treasurer Tahir Mehmood, highlighting the significance of the championship in promoting women’s baseball in the country.
