Lahore, In a significant move towards improving women’s health in the region, the Directorate of Training, Research and Production, Population Welfare Department, Punjab, in collaboration with the Department of Gender Studies at the University of the Punjab, organized a one-day seminar focused on safeguarding the reproductive health of women in Punjab, Pakistan. The event brought together a diverse group of experts to discuss critical issues and share insights on reproductive health.
According to University of The Punjab, the seminar featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including Ms. Ruksana Kausar, Director of TR and P, PWD; Mr. Yasir Rahim, Senior Research Associate, Research Wing, TR and P; Ms. Razia Sultana, Senior Instructor, PWTI; Dr. Sadaf Ghani, Principal of RTI; Ms. Saman Rai, Director General of Population Welfare; and Dr. Zubda Riaz, Director Technical at Directorate General, Population Welfare, Punjab. These experts provided valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities related to reproductive health in the province.
The discussions highlighted the importance of addressing reproductive health issues to ensure the well-being of women in Punjab. Topics covered included the need for comprehensive education, access to healthcare services, and the implementation of supportive policies to protect women’s health rights.
The seminar concluded with a speech by the Chairperson of the Department of Gender Studies, Prof. Dr. Ra’ana Malik, who thanked the esteemed guests for their significant contributions to the discourse on reproductive health.
