Islamabad, The President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, welcomed a visit from Fauzia Viqar, the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace, to discuss the reinforcement of women’s rights and initiatives against harassment in educational settings.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the meeting between Dr. Alotaibi and Fauzia Viqar focused on the pivotal role of educational institutions in upholding and promoting the rights of women and eradicating harassment. Viqar commended IIUI for its historic appointment of the first female Rector, signifying the university’s commitment to creating an inclusive environment for women’s advancement.
The IIUI President briefed the Ombudsperson on the university’s efforts and the active role played by IIUI women in both the university’s and society’s advancement. The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen collaboration between IIUI and the ombudsperson’s office, aimed at raising awareness about harassment and safeguarding women’s rights. Dr. Alotaibi also underscored IIUI’s dedication to societal service through research and programs with practical applications.
