Karachi, The Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) is set to host the 2nd SMIU Global Research Congress (2nd SMIU GRC 2024) starting Wednesday, February 28, 2024. This significant academic event will span two days and include six international conferences, featuring a diverse range of panel discussions and technical sessions. Distinguished guests such as the Consul General of China, Mr. Yang Yundong, and the Consul General of Turkiye, Mr. Cemal Sangu, alongside local and international scholars, are scheduled to inaugurate the Congress.
According to Sindh Madressatul Islam University, the opening ceremony will see Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mujeebuddin Memon and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, among other notable figures. Scholars from various countries including the USA, UK, Russia, UAE, and Nigeria, as well as vice chancellors, academicians, and experts from across Pakistan, are set to participate in the event, highlighting its global scope and the diverse expertise of its attendees.
The Congress will feature panel discussions on topics such as the integration of sustainability in teacher education, exploring Pakistan’s blue economy, linguistic challenges and opportunities in Pakistan, and sustainable energy narratives. These sessions will take place in the Main Building, Talpur House, and I.T. Tower of SMIU, offering a platform for in-depth exploration of contemporary issues across different fields.
Among the panelists are international and local experts, including Dr. A.S. Keith Casey Barton from the USA and Prof. Dr. Solnyshkina Marina Ivanovna from Russia, indicating the international collaboration and exchange of ideas that define the Congress. Topics range from sustainability in education, economic opportunities within Pakistan’s maritime sector, linguistic evolution in Pakistan, to the role of sustainable energy and local communities in Sindh, reflecting the broad and impactful nature of the discussions.
