University of Turbat Enhances Zoology Curriculum in Line with HEC Guidelines

Turbat, The University of Turbat (UoT) hosted the second meeting of the Board of Studies for BS Zoology and Associate Degree programs, focusing on aligning the curriculum with the revised Higher Education Commission (HEC) undergraduate policy of 2023. Held on February 14, 2024, the session was chaired by Dr. Jahangir Khan, Chairperson of the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences, with significant contributions from faculty members across various institutions.

According to University of Turbat, the meeting saw the participation of distinguished subject experts Dr. Shahabuddin Kakar and Dr. Saeed Ahmed Essote from the University of Balochistan, who joined via video link. The gathering also included Dr. Naeem Ullah, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and IT, and Ms. Gul Afroz, Assistant Professor and Head of the Zoology Department at Government Girls Degree College, Turbat, among others.

The primary aim of the gathering was to review and adjust the BS Zoology and Associate Degree Science (ADS) courses to adhere to the updated HEC undergraduate policy. The Board deliberated on various agenda items, leading to resolutions that promise to enhance the educational quality and relevance of the zoology programs offered. The suggestions and recommendations from expert members were unanimously endorsed, highlighting the collaborative effort towards curriculum development.

Dr. Jahangir Khan, in his closing remarks, appreciated the board members for their active engagement and significant contributions to the meeting. This step by the University of Turbat marks a pivotal effort in ensuring that its zoology programs remain at the forefront of scientific education, meeting the latest educational standards and requirements set by the HEC.
