Karachi, The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi recently took center stage as the Exclusive Partner at the 11th Deans and Directors Conference 2024, a landmark event focused on ‘Navigating Disruption and Innovation in Business Education’. Held at the Pearl Continental Hotel, the conference convened a diverse group of vice-chancellors, deans, directors, educators, and industry experts from across the nation to examine the evolving dynamics of business education in the face of technological advancements and changing industry demands.
According to Institute of Business Administration – Karachi, Executive Director Dr. S Akbar Zaidi opened the conference with a warm welcome to all participants, highlighting the IBA’s commitment to excellence in higher education. Dr. Zaidi emphasized the importance of access to quality education for every Pakistani and advocated for enhancements in the country’s higher education system to better serve its population. He proudly noted the IBA’s stature as a leading institution that sets a benchmark for both public and private sector universities in Pakistan.
The conference, spanning February 12-13, featured a series of panel discussions, presentations, and workshops where IBA faculty members, alongside other prominent figures in business education, shared insights and strategies for adapting to and leading through the disruptions facing the sector. Dr. Zaidi himself contributed to a panel on ‘Driving Excellence through Strategic Academic and Industry Partnerships’, while Dr. Abdullah Sheikh, Dean of the School of Business Studies, moderated a session focused on ‘Nurturing Responsible and Ethical Leadership in Business Schools’.
This year’s Deans and Directors Conference provided a critical platform for discussing how business schools can innovate and evolve curriculum, teaching methods, and institutional strategies to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing business environment and prepare students for future leadership roles.
