Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Advocates for Political Stability Post-CEC Meeting

Islamabad, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), addressed the media following a two-day Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting, underscoring the party’s commitment to national stability amid Pakistan’s political tumult. The PPP, having reflected on the current political and economic crises, has reiterated its historic slogan ‘Pakistan Khappay’ (Pakistan is wanted), signaling its dedication to helping the country navigate through its challenges.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Chairman Zardari stated that the PPP will not vie for federal government formation nor seek ministries within a potential coalition but is prepared to support the government on crucial issues to ensure political stability. Despite their grievances with the PML-N, especially from members in Punjab and other provinces, the PPP emphasizes the need for confidence-building and plans to address these concerns through a newly formed committee dedicated to dialogue with other political entities.

The PPP has accepted the election results in the interest of avoiding further political upheaval, despite raising concerns about the level playing field and electoral irregularities. Chairman Zardari has communicated these issues to President Zardari, advocating for systemic reforms to bolster the electoral process’s integrity.

With an eye towards the future, the PPP aims to establish its government in Sindh and Balochistan and asserts its right to hold constitutional positions. Chairman Zardari expressed a personal desire for President Zardari to assume the role of President of Pakistan to help guide the country through its current challenges.

The chairman concluded by asserting the PPP’s resolve to support the formation of a government to prevent a descent into chaos and emphasized the party’s willingness to engage in democratic processes to address the nation’s pressing issues.
