Ph.D. Defense on “Lived Experiences of Failed Suicide Bombers in Pakistan” Rescheduled at Punjab University

Lahore, The Institute of Social and Cultural Studies at the University of the Punjab has announced a rescheduling of the Ph.D. public defense for Mr. Munir Ahmad Zia. Initially set for the 15th of February, the defense has been moved due to essential reasons and will now take place on the 16th of February at 2:00 pm. The dissertation titled “LIVED EXPERIENCES OF FAILED SUICIDE BOMBERS IN PAKISTAN: A PHENOMENOLOGICAL STUDY” is expected to contribute significant insights into the psychology and sociology of terrorism.

According to University of The Punjab, the defense session will be held in the Committee Room of the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS). The Ph.D. candidate, Mr. Munir Ahmad Zia, will present his research findings, which delve into the personal narratives of individuals who were involved in but did not complete suicide bombing missions. This qualitative study employs a phenomenological approach to better understand the experiences and motivations of these individuals within the Pakistani context.

Faculty members, M.Phil, and Ph.D. scholars have been invited to attend the public defense to engage with the research and participate in the academic discourse. The rescheduling was officially documented on the 12th of February, as noted by the director of ISCS, Dr. Rubina Zakar.
