Rawalpindi, Amidst growing concerns over the credibility of the electoral process, President Mohammad Zahid Habib Qadri of the Sunni Tehreek North Punjab has vocally criticized the recent elections, labeling the shift from election to selection as a direct affront to voter sovereignty.
According to Pakistan Sunni Tehreek, the discrepancies between Form 47 and Form 45 results cast a significant shadow over the claimed transparency of the elections, contradicting the Election Commission’s assertions of conducting a clear and fair voting process.
The organization has raised alarm over the apparent manipulation of election outcomes under the cover of darkness, deeming those responsible for the country’s political instability as national offenders. The role of media and social media in unveiling these discrepancies was highlighted, suggesting a pivotal moment for electoral transparency. The difference in election results, as exposed by these platforms, has led to widespread calls for justice, particularly from political workers who have faced arrests and violence, practices the Sunni Tehreek firmly condemns.
With 25 crore citizens looking towards the judiciary for rectification, the Sunni Tehreek’s leader emphasized the necessity of resolving political activists’ grievances as per Form 45 to pave the way for national development and prosperity. Qadri’s dialogue with Punjab’s organizational officials and political activists underlined the urgent need for consensus among all parties to foster a democratic process, steering clear of divisive and violent political strategies.
