Lahore, The Sports Board Punjab is gearing up for a significant event scheduled for February 2, 2024, at the Alhamra Complex, Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, where over 600 athletes, officials, and dignitaries are expected to gather for a grand Cash Award and Motorbike Distribution Ceremony. This ceremony is set to recognize the achievements of male and female athletes across various sports disciplines.
According to Sports Board Punjab, Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail chaired a crucial meeting to oversee the arrangements for the upcoming ceremony. Key figures such as Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Director Youth Affairs/Divisional Sports Officer Lahore Rana Nadeem Anjum, Deputy Secretary Sports Marhaba Naimat, and Deputy Directors Zahoor Ahmed and Ataur Rehman were in attendance, alongside four Divisional Sports Officers.
Dr Tufail highlighted the comprehensive planning and the assignment of duties to top officials of the Sports Board Punjab, ensuring the event’s successful execution. He announced that athletes who have excelled in national and international competitions recently would be awarded cash prizes totaling Rs 3 crore, 90 lakh. Additionally, 150 motorbikes will be presented to Tehsil Sports Officers in recognition of their exceptional contributions to Punjab’s sports club registration campaign.
The upcoming ceremony underscores the Punjab government’s commitment to promoting sports and acknowledging the hard work and success of its athletes. It aims not only to reward outstanding sporting achievements but also to motivate other athletes and officials to strive for excellence in their respective fields.
