ISLAMABAD, Bahria University’s Head Office (BUHO) in Islamabad is looking to fill the position of Quantity Surveyor, focusing on a range of responsibilities related to civil work projects. According to Bahria University, the ideal candidate should hold a BE in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or B. Tech, with 16 years of education in a relevant domain. The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field.
The Quantity Surveyor’s role at Bahria University will involve assisting in the tendering and bidding process for civil works, technical qualifications of contractors and consultants as per PPRA Rules and PEC guidelines, and ensuring the timely commencement of approved civil works. The role also includes monitoring ongoing projects and suggesting necessary remedial measures, as well as processing invoices and bills of contractors and consultants in accordance with contract terms.
Regular site visits are a part of the job description to inspect the quality of construction and renovation works, along with the inspection of building materials to ensure they meet contract specifications and are stored properly. The Quantity Surveyor must also ensure safety precautions at work sites, evaluate the quality of completed works, and recommend payments to contractors based on the work schedule outlined in contracts.
Additionally, the individual will be responsible for initiating progress reports, indicating any deviations or delays in projects, and undertaking any other duties related to civil work projects as assigned by the Director of Planning and Development and Deputy Director (Development) at Bahria University.
