Key Figures Arthur, Bradburn, and Puttick Resign from National Cricket Academy Roles in Lahore

Lahore, Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick, who held significant roles at Lahore’s National Cricket Academy (NCA), have resigned from their respective positions. These departures follow changes in their portfolios in November 2023.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Arthur, Bradburn, and Puttick informed the board of their decision to leave by the end of January 2024. Arthur had been appointed as the Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team in April 2023, while Bradburn was named the head coach of the Pakistan national men’s side earlier last year. Andrew Puttick, a former South African cricketer, had been serving as Pakistan’s batting coach since April 2023.

Arthur’s tenure in Pakistan cricket has been notable. Before his recent stint, he was the head coach of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team from 2016 to 2019. Under his guidance, Pakistan reached the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test team rankings and won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Arthur’s coaching career also includes stints with South Africa, Australia, and Sri Lanka.

Bradburn, 57, a former New Zealand international who played in 18 matches from 1990 to 2001, had previously served as the fielding coach of the Pakistan men’s team from 2018 to 2020. He later took up the Head of High-Performance Coaching role at NCA until October 2021. During his time as head coach, Pakistan achieved the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI team rankings for the first time in May 2023.

The PCB has expressed gratitude for the services rendered by Arthur, Bradburn, and Puttick and wished them well in their future endeavors. The board’s statement highlighted the amicable nature of their departure and the contributions each individual made to Pakistan cricket during their tenure.

The resignations mark a significant change in the coaching and administrative landscape of Pakistan cricket, as the PCB looks forward to filling these vital roles in the NCA.
